The OS X 10.10.1 update went live in the App Store on Monday, and according to Apple, the update “improves Wi-Fi reliability.” Presumably, this means it corrects the widely publicized Wi-Fi connection issues many Yosemite users have experienced, but according to Computerworld, OS X users say that their Wi-Fi connection issues haven’t gone away with 10.10.1.
Computerworld’s Gregg Keizer points to countless threads on Apple’s discussion forums where users have gone to look for a fix to the persistent issues. Sure enough, take a quick look on Apple’s support forums and you’ll find several threads on continuing Wi-Fi issues in 10.10.1.
Of course, this is a tech support forum we’re talking about—that is, a place people go to when they’re having problems—so it’s hard to get a good read on how widespread Wi-Fi issues are under 10.10.1. It’s possible Apple corrected some of the issues, but didn’t fix all of them, or that there are other factors at play.
