TuneUp, the mega popular application for cleaning up your meta information mess in iTunes, has released a music ID application on the App Store and is now positioned to directly take on the likes of Shazam.
The application is currently free, and like all the cool kids these days, it sounds like the company doesn’t have much of a monetization strategy moving forward. That said, TuneUp currently charges $39.95 for its desktop application for iTunes. If anything, the mobile application seems like an extension of that brand, and it’s primary goal is to steal customers from Shazam.
If you’re looking for a Shazam replacement, you may want to check out the fancy new TuneUp mobile app. It’s free on the App Store.
