While the Galaxy S III has been out in the public since Spring of 2012, that hasn’t stopped the iPhone 5 from already overtaking it in terms of web traffic. Chitika Insights, a reputable mobile insights firm, has been tracking the phones since they launched. Just 18 days after the iPhone 5 launched, Chitika has confirmed that the iPhone 5 already produces more web traffic than the Galaxy S III.
This test was conducted via a user agent analysis on millions of mobile ad impressions. This information was collected between October 3rd and October 9th. If you’d like a more digestible version of this information, check out the chart we’ve embedded above.
It’s not too surprising to see that Apple has already beat the Galaxy S III in terms of web traffic as the hype for the iPhone 5 was through the roof before launch. Since Apple sold millions of phones within a weekend, most of these users were probably using their phones to surf the web during the time of this survey.
It looks like those record-breaking sales are playing off, eh?
