The iPhone 5 is easily the most anticipated iPhone yet, with improved features like the new display. But how does it compare to the iPhone 4 or the Samsung Galaxy S III? According to an analysis by DisplayMate, the iPhone 5 is the “best Smartphone display” that they’ve tested to date.
DisplayMate just released an extensive analysis comparing the new iPhone 5 screen with those of the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S III and found that the iPhone 5 has the best smartphone screen that they’ve tested to date. DisplayMate concludes
The iPhone 5 has a true state-of-the-art accurate display – it’s not perfect and there is plenty of room for improvements (and competitors) but it is the best Smartphone display we have seen to date based on extensive Lab measurements and viewing tests.
After doing tests and comparing the three devices, DisplayMate found that the iPhone 5 is a significant improvement over the iPhone 4, with much lower screen reflections, much higher image contrast and screen readability in high ambient lighting and notably improved color accuracy and picture quality. Overall, the iPhone 5 outperforms both the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S III.
