If you’re an active stock trader, iOS 7’s Notification Center stock ticker can be an invaluable resource for checking stock prices throughout the day, especially if your trading app has two-factor authentication enabled. However, Apple hasn’t exactly made it obvious on how to add new stock prices to Notification Center, so here’s how it’s done.
Adding Stock Tickers To Notification Center
Launch the Stocks app on your iPhone and look towards the bottom right-hand corner of the screen and tap on the list button. Look towards the upper right-hand corner of the screen and click on the plus button; you can now add a new stock , mutual fund, index, or etf to Notification Center by typing the stock’s name.
Reordering and Deleting Stocks
To reorder your stocks, tap-and-drag on the line buttons to the right of the stock’s names on the Stocks edit screen. Reordering on this list will affect how your stocks are ordered in the Stocks app and in Notification Center.
If you’d like to remove a stock from Notification Center, look to the left of the stock’s name and click on the red delete button.
Finally, if you could care less about the stock market and want to remove it from Notification Center, launch the Settings app on your iOS device and tap on the Notification Center option. Look to the bottom of the window under the Today View header and swipe the on/off switch next to the Stocks option to the off position.
