It’s that time of year again. CES is just around the corner (we’re not there), so we’re probably going to be doing a lot of “announcement” based posts over the coming weeks. The fun has already started though, as Opera has announced on their website that they’re planning on showing off an updated Opera browser that has been optimized for tablets.
The “Opera for Tablets” preview video, released on YouTube, is demoed on an Android device, and primarily acts as a sneak peek. When it comes to iOS, there’s no mention of the iPad in the video, on their website, or in any of their releases, so we’re not sure what to expect.
Opera does currently have an iPhone version of their browser in the App Store, so we suspect that we’ll soon be seeing an iPad equivalent as well. After all, how can an application be called “Opera for Tablets” if they don’t plan on releasing software for the most successful tablet to date?
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more on the announcement.
