Apple and Google may not be out of the water just yet. It’s being reported today that both companies have been summoned to testify at yet another U.S. Senate hearing later this week, this time for the Consumer Protection, Safety and Insurance Subcommittee.
It’s expected that both companies will face similar questions regarding location data being stored on mobile devices as they did during Senator Franken’s Senate subcommittee. Other companies called to testify include Facebook, who will be represented by their CTO Bret Taylor.
Apple’s representative will be Catherin Novelli, Apple’s VP of Worldwide Government Affairs. We don’t expect much to happen outside of finger pointing, question dodging, and legalese speak. You can get more information on the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportations webpage.
