Great news for New Yorkers this summer — Boingo Wireless, in sponsorship with Google Offers, is bringing free Wi-Fi to more than 200 locations in New York City. This promotion begins on June 25 and lasts until September 7, 2012.
Boingo Wireless is the Wi-Fi industry’s leading provider of software and services worldwide. Starting today, people have free access to Wi-Fi hotspots all over New York City. This Wi-Fi service is available in select MTA subway stations, including the A, C, E, and L at 8th Ave. and West 14th Street, the C and E at 8th Ave. and West 23rd Street, and the 1, 2, 3, F, M and L at 6th/7th Ave. and West 14th Street. Free Wi-Fi is also available at all of Boingo’s 200 Hotzone Hotspot stations.
This is all possible thanks to Google Offers, which provides great deals for places to eat, shop, and more in New York City and 39 other cities across the U.S.
With the collaboration of Boingo and Google Offers, people waiting around in the subway station, or other hotspots, can now surf the net for free, while discovering great local deals.
And this is just the beginning of the partnership. By the end of the year, Google Offers and Boingo plan to bring Wi-Fi to about 36 subway stations, including Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Columbus Circle. The five year plan is to have Boingo Wi-Fi available across all 270+ train stations, targeting a network of 1.6 billion annual passengers.
