It’s pretty obvious that Apple’s trying to grow their presence in China. It seems that the company has decided to open a store on the iconic Wangfujing Street in Beijing. The popular Chinese blog M.I.C. Gadget has posted pictures of the construction site, and we’ve embedded them above for your convenience. While we can’t see much, we can certainly tell that the store is pretty huge. In fact, according to M.I.C. Gadget, the store is larger than both of the current Beijing stores combined and could possibly feature four stories of Macs, iPhones and other Apple goodness. Wow.
It has also been noted that this store should be opened just in time for the iPhone 5 launch in China, so that’s a definite plus for Apple as well as all of the Chinese people who are interested in purchasing the phone on day one.
What makes Wangfujing Street so special, anyway? Think of it as the Champs-Elysees or Michigan Avenue of China. All of the high-end shops in China are here, allowing pedestrians to shop for their favorite brands, whether it’s purchasing electronics, clothing or other fun stuff to waste your money on. For those not geographically inclined, Wangfujing Street is located less than a mile away from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
