Once again, Apple is holding its annual iTunes Festival in London at The Roundhouse. The UK based music festival is put on by Apple and all tickets are given away for free. As usual, for those who can’t go to London, you can watch the artists live through apps for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Apple has released an update for the Apple TV that brings the iTunes Festival directly to your main screen.
Similar to the Hulu Plus app that was released earlier this month, the iTunes Festival app just appears on the home screen of your Apple TV. You don’t have to patch your installation, or install an update manually. You can also watch the festival through AirPlay and an iPhone or iPad using the iTunes Festival application. In addition to live streaming, Apple will also allow you to replay the concerts for a limited time following the live performance.
The iTunes Festival will go from September 1-30 and some of the artists include One Direction, Jessie J, Usher, Emeli Sande, Norah Jones, David Guetta, Alicia Keys, Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran, Deadmau5, and many more.
The iOS app for the iTunes Festival is available on the App Store. If the app doesn’t appear automatically on your Apple TV homescreen, try restarting the device.
