While tech companies such as Apple and Google are known to fight over the appreciation of customers, they also want to win over the appreciation of their own employees. Career community site Glassdoor released their annual Employees’ Choice Awards today, with Facebook claiming top prize.
The award was determined by reviews left by employees about their respective companies. Other notable tech companies that made the list of 50 were Google, which came in 6th place, and Apple, which came in 34th. Other companies of note were Qualcomm in 38th, Linkedin at 14th and In-N-Out Burger at 9th.
The Glassdoor site also allows you to read reviews left by employees of these companies. A Facebook intern had this to say about the company: “Great culture, people are thrilled to be there and that’s infectious. The various perks don’t hurt and you will constantly feel pushed to do your best.” Many of the employees that reviewed Facebook also complained saying that it was currently understaffed and that too much work could be put on a small group of people.
This marks the second time Facebook has won the award in three years. “We strive to make Facebook a place where everyone is able to have an impact doing what they love. Receiving this award is a testament to the culture of builders we’ve worked hard to create.” said Facebook’s Vice-President of People and Recruiting.
The full list of winners can be found here. Curiously, Microsoft is nowhere to be seen.
