Adobe has brought Creative Suite 5.5 (CS 5.5) to the masses today. The official launch of CS 5.5 has brought with it the controversial subscription model that they announced last month. Now, unlike in other versions of Creative Suite, Adobe has given their customers the option to either buy the software outright, or pay month-to-month or per year for access to the software bundle.
Software Updates
The update brings with it better HTML5 support, updated Flash features, improved jQuery support, as well as Adobe Flash Builder v 4.5 Premium.
Digital Publishing Suite
Also being released for the first time alongside CS 5.5 is Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite, an offering that helps digital creators convert their content to mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, and Blackberry devices.
The Digital Publishing Suite will costs $500.00 per month, but users also have to pay a service fee for hosting as well as other service fees.
