With construction coming to an end on the future Rosenstraße retail store in Berlin, Germany, Apple might be planning to open a second store. This one would be located in the huge Leipziger Platz No12 retail development that is opening in 2013.
Located in the heart of Berlin, this area has good public transportation and a large resident population. Construction on this project began last summer, replacing a historical building near busy Postdamer Platz and the Sony Center.
This retail development will have over 538,000 square-feet of retail space on three levels. It will also feature the city’s largest food court, a public plaza and underground parking.
According to a rendering on the developer’s website, an Apple Store would feature a wide glass storefront with a back-lit Apple logo suspended over the entrance. Ninety-five percent of the retail space has reportedly been leased, but Apple is typically not listed among them.
If the rendering from the developer’s website wasn’t just speculative art, then this new Apple Retail Store would be about 1.5 miles from the Kurfürstendamm store.
