Heavy Photoshop users rocking the 2013 MacBook Air have been experiencing annoying screen flickering when using the graphic design application, more specifically, when using the brush tools. When Adobe found out about the issue, they blamed it on Apple by saying that either a driver bug or GPU issue that was causing the flickering. Well, according to a tipster at MacRumors, that blame push may be right.
Todd David, the MacRumors tipster, has stated that after installing the OS X 10.8.5 developer preview on his 2013 MacBook Air, the flickering issue disappeared. The site has also stated that installing the OS X Mavericks beta fixed the flickering issue for some 2013 MacBook Air users.
As of now, there is no official public release date for the OS X 10.8.5 update, though we’ll likely see it pushed out quicker than previous OS X updates due to the fact that it fixes such a major issue on Apple’s latest portable. Either that, or Apple will simply package the patched code into a MacBook Air-only update and release it ahead of the OS X 10.8.5 update.
