If you have a MacBook, you’re familiar with this scenario: You’re going to pack up your cables to head out. You unplug your MagSafe cable, and take the plug out of the wall. The little plastic fins on your power brick fan out, and you wrap the small cable around them over and over. There isn’t much you can do with the large cable, so you just kind of fold it over the brick. You stuff it in your bag, and head out. When you make it to your hotel room, your MacBook is in need of some juice, so you open your bag. You reach in, and all you find is a nest of wires. The cable has come undone, and you spend the next few minutes untangling. Even worse, the end of the cable has been bent so hard that it begins to fray. That’s why this Kickstarter project exists.
Wrap Up is a plastic cage that snaps over your power brick. It protects the wires from being bent too hard, and it gives the large cable a place to rest. Best of all, it has nooks for the cable ends to sit in, so they won’t come loose in your bag. This is a brilliant idea, and I can’t believe Apple hasn’t thought of this before.
If you want your very own Wrap Up, you’re going to need to wrap $20 on Kickstarter. As of publication, they only have $600 of their $60,000 USD goal, so the next 30 days are going to need to really kick ass. If you want this product to happen, don’t wait. Pledge your share now.
