Somewhere between opening gifts and relaxing in some tropical weather for a week, I missed the news that Capcom has brought Dead Rising to the iPhone. Zombie killing is zombie killing, but killing Zombie’s the Dead Rising way is a bit unique. Dead Rising was one of the first video games that gave the character a multitude of weapons, both absolutely ridiculous and badass, to slay zombies with.
Capcom has finally brought the game to the iPhone. The game is just as fun as the console version if you’re the kind of person that needs to jump in, kill some zombies, then jump out. If you’re looking for a storyline, or a great control scheme in this game, you might be disappointed, since both are lacking. It’s pretty clear that Capcom’s motivation with Dead Rising Mobile was to eliminate stories and increase the zombie killing. Less time spent in storylines and more time spent bashing zombies is a good thing when it comes to the iPhone version.
I don’t play iPhone games for the storyline, but clearly some of you do. The customer ratings on the App Store are as polar as I’ve ever seen, with ratings evenly split between five stars and one star.
I’ve only just started playing the game, so I don’t have much to say about it quite yet, but it has been pretty fun so far. We’ll have a full-featured review up for you once I get deeper into the game.
