It’s simple really. Banks absolutely suck at giving you access to your financials when you need them the most. I mean, they don’t even let you create folders in a savings account so you can earmark funds for certain purchases. What kind of institution does that? Anywho, Simple, an app aimed directly at those of us who need access to our financial information in a modern and efficient way, is now available on the App Store. If you already have an account, you can sign right in and get moving. If you don’t, you’ll have to sign up on the waiting listing.
So, what is Simple? From the Simple announcement post:
With the Simple mobile app you can view your Safe-to-Spend balance, search and browse your entire transaction history, pay bills, deposit checks, and get help from our customer relations team. No matter where you are, you’ll have all the same tools that are available on the Simple website.
Simple is exactly what we need in the banking industry. A company that comes along and turns the whole industry on its head is all aces in my book, and it is something we not only support, but would like to encourage. Sadly, the service is US only right now, so if you’re like me, and live in Canada, you’re out of luck.
