Readability For iOS Update Brings Tag Filtering, More Sharing, And VoiceOver Support

Readability, a popular read-later app that launched on iOS about a year ago, just received a pretty decent update, including new features and improvements.

With this update, Readability finally has support for tags. Tags were first introduced to the Readability platform in November of last year, but now tags are available for the iOS app. Right now, support for tags only lets you filter items in your Reading List by tag.

Tagging makes keeping your Reading List organized. Whenever you bookmark an article for Reading Later you’ll have the option to add tags. With the new iOS update, tags that you’ve added to articles on the web site or through the new Chrome Extension will be available to filter your Reading list.

Right now, support for tags only lets you filter items in your Reading List by tag. On the app’s sidebar you’ll see a new Tags segment that you can go into to see all your tags, which you can just tap on to see the content.

The app does not yet have the ability to add tags right from within the app, but hopefully this option will be included in another update in the future.

The Readability update also adds accessibility and VoiceOver support, syncing improvements, and native iOS 6 Twitter and Facebook sharing.

Readability works with the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
