MTV‘s iOS app has been completely redesigned from the ground up. Previously known as the MTV WatchWith app, the app has hit version 2.0 and will now be known simply as MTV. With the rebranding of its name, MTV 2.0 brings some significant new features.
MTV WatchWith was more of a viewing companion, and not an app that you could actually watch full episodes on. But that all changes with MTV 2.0, which lets you watch full episodes of your favorite MTV shows, like “Awkward,” “Real World,” “Teen Wolf,” “Teen Mom,” and “Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life.”
The only catch with watching full episodes is that you can only do so if your TV provider is supported by the app. As of now, the app supports these providers: AT&T U-verse, Bright House Networks, Cablevision (Optimum), DIRECTV, Hawaiian Telecom, RCN, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon FiOS.
You can also access bonus content from MTV shows, MTV News, MTV Style, MTV Movies, MTV Geeks, MTV Hive and MTV Other.
The app will still function as a second-screen app while watching your favorite shows on Music Television. It also lets you check out photos, participate in polls and quizzes, read behind-the-scenes information, and find new songs from all the MTV shows you watch. And you can still chat with friends through the supported Facebook chats and Twitter feeds.
MTV 2.0 is now available for download from the App Store for free.
