Apple released another minor firmware update for its iOS devices, with the new release of iOS 6.1.3.
The main reason for the new update seems to be to address the lock screen bypass bug that was recently discovered, as that has now been fixed with the update. The bug allowed for people to get into a locked iPhone and access the phone’s contact list without needing to know the password.
There is still currently no jailbreak release for 6.1.3, with some people speculating that a jailbreak may never come for this most recent update. If you’re at all interested in jailbreaking your phone, this may be an update to skip for the time being.
The download is 17.0 MB in size and is available to download now.
How do you update?
- Open your Settings App on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad,
- Click General,
- then Click Software Update.
- Let the app do its thing, then click the Install Now button.
That’s all it takes.
