Well, that’s just awkward. Facebook’s recently released Camera application for iOS has changed its name from Camera to “Camera•” It you’re having a hard time spotting the difference, it’s that little bullet point after the a in Camera.
We assumed earlier this month that Facebook deliberately named its photography application Camera to confuse iOS users into using its application instead of Apple’s native iOS application, which is also named Camera. We don’t have any sources on this one, nor do we have any inside knowledge. But, it’s looking like someone wasn’t too pleased about the naming convention Facebook chose for its app.
Camera• (how stupid is that) also had some other updates, including more reliable uploads and some other under the hood features.
What a bizarre world this App Store has become. We couldn’t make this up if we tried.
