If you aren’t convinced by this time that the iPhone 5 won’t be coming this summer, then maybe some comments from an AT&T customer service representative may sway you.
According to a MacRumors article, an AT&T customer care representative has informed the public that the iPhone 5 won’t be shipping in June or July. Instead it will be at some later date. Unfortunately, according to the article, the representative wasn’t privy to the actual release schedule.
Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us.
So here’s where things get laughable. The information was provided by a reader, who was on a call with a customer service representative. We’ve been hearing rumors that iPhone 5 release will slide into the fall for a while now, so this is just another drop in the bucket, but that being said, we highly doubt anyone on the phone with customers has insider information about shipping schedules and release dates for the iPhone 5.
When was the last time a customer support representative was able to answer any of your questions about your phone? Do you really think they’re able to answer questions and provide accurate information about the latest Apple rumor?
It’s a pretty easy statement to make, considering the rumor has been circulating the internet for well over a month now.
We’re calling bunk, and laughing a little at this one.
