If you snagged a new iPad with LTE, you’ve probably heard about the differences in battery life; only 9 hours, as opposed to the 10 hours of the Wi-Fi-only models. However, if you’re interested in utilizing it as a mobile hotspot on Verizon’s network, we’ve got some great news for you.
AnandTech did battery testing on the new iPad, and discovered that, with the screen off, the new iPad’s 42.5Wh battery can power the Verizon LTE antenna for 25.3 hours on a single charge. That’s over a day of battery life. Granted, it’s unlikely your data is going to last you the entire time, if you’re trying to stream videos or do any sort of heavy data usage. But hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?
