Imagine sitting down at a steakhouse and flicking through an iPad instead of a menu to select wine for your dinner. Don’t laugh–it’s actually happening.
Chicago Cut Steakhouse has been using 40 iPads throughout their restaurant as a traditional wine menu replacement. Apparently iPads can sell anything. David Flom, the managing partner at Cut Steakhouse, says that using the iPad has increased sales of wine because customers are now able to thumb through the wine collection easier.
Something tells me that Steve Jobs didn’t envision the iPad as a primary tool for slinging alcohol, but if the shoe fits, I’m sure he doesn’t mind all that much.
