Apple’s annual Back to School promotion began this week, and this year it has been expanded to include iPads. In previous years, students buying a new Mac also received an Apple reward — a $100 Back to School gift card that can be used on apps, books, music, and movies.
Apparently, Apple thinks students will be using the iPad in the classroom so students who purchase the new iPad will get a $50 Back to School gift card. In January, Apple announced new education initiatives that the company hopes will help integrate the iPad into the classroom, including a new version of the iBooks e-reader app optimized for electronic textbooks.
The Back to School program runs until September 21. To qualify for this offer you must be a college student, a student accepted to a college, a parent buying for a college student, or a faculty or staff member from any grade level.
To get your gift card you have to buy a qualifying Mac or iPad from the Apple Online Store for Education, the Apple Retail Store, or an Apple Authorized Campus Store. Along with your purchase, you will receive your $100 or $50 dollar gift card.
