Apple Out Of Initial Fourth-Generation iPad Stock, Now Shipping In One Week

Apple’s fourth-generation iPad went on sale for pre-order on Friday and now, just four days later, Apple is out of initial pre-order supply for the new iPad. According to Apple’s website, new orders for the latest full size iPad are now available to ship in one week, which includes all capacities ranging from 16-64 GB and both black and white models.

If you got your order in early for the fourth-generation iPad then you’ll get your device on Friday, the official launch day of the iPad and iPad mini. Apple likely has more supply to make available in its retail store, for those who decided to wait for launch day to get the new iPad.

In an unexpected surprise, Apple announced the fourth-generation iPad at last week’s iPad mini event. It’s equipped with a faster A6X processor and the new Lightning connector. It completely replaces the third-generation iPad, which first arrived in March, bringing with it the high-resolution Retina display to Apple’s tablet line. Apple also gave the fourth-generation iPad a high-definition forward-facing FaceTime HD camera and it’s still compatible with the Smart Cover accessory. Like the one before, this iPad starts at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model.
