I love the thinness of the iPhone 5, but hate how fragile the device can be at times. Though I don’t drop my iPhone often, it has happened, and the only thing that has saved my mobile connection to the world is my case. As a frequent iPod, iPhone and iPad user, I’ve gone through my fair share of cases and have come to the conclusion that most of them are either bulky, flimsy, or just plan ugly. However, Designed by M aims to fix this issue with its new case: the AL13.
The AL13 is a bumper-style case that is crafted from aerospace grade aluminum. This means that the case will feel solid and protect your iPhone from damage due to drops and bumps. This material is also lightweight due to the fact that is doesn’t cover the front or back of the device. However, because of this, the back of your iPhone is open to scratching and damage.
If you’d like to purchase an AL13 case for your iPhone 4/4S or iPhone 5, expect to drop $79.99. The case is available in five different colors: black, red, blue, white and gray. The AL13 case was originally a Kickstarter project that reached $86,250, quite a bit over its $20,000 goal. The $86,250 was reached in February 2013, and the case actually shipped on time.
