Cook has also headed the launch of several new Apple products over the course of the year.
Other nominees include:
- Yahoo CEO: Marissa Meyer
- President of Egypt: Mohammed Morsi
- Undocumented Americans/Immigrants
- Bill and Hillary Clinton
- Barack Obama
- Student activist from Pakistan: Malala Yousafzai
- Higgs Boson Discoverer: Fabiola Gianatti
The winner of last year’s award went to The Protestor. This year, TIME also held a reader’s choice Person of the Year, with the winner being Kim Jong Un, Supreme Leader of North Korea.
This year’s winner will be decided by the magazine’s editors and announced on Wednesday morning.
