Shenzhen Apple Store Opening Its Doors November 3rd, 2012

The city where most Apple products originate is finally going to get its own Apple store. Shenzhen, China, will see an Apple Store open its doors on November 3, 2012. The store, announced by Apple some time ago, will open at the Shenzhen Holiday Plaza.

The Shenzhen store is the seventh Apple Store in China, and Apple has seen tremendous growth in the region. Fifteen percent of the company’s total profits for the 2012 fiscal year have come from China ($23.8 billion).

Question is, though, who in Shenzhen can afford Apple products? According to a salary guide from the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Labor and Social Insurance, the richer districts (Luoho, Futian, Nanshan, Yantian) average around $668.25 per month in salary, while wages in the poorer districts (Bao’an, Longgang, Pingshan, Guangming) average around $446.29 per month. That’s a lot of sacrificing for an iPhone or iPad.
