After a four year long lead by Google, Apple now claims first place in the BrandZ list of the world’s 100 most valuable brands. The study, done by the global brands agency Millward Brown, says that Apple Inc. is now worth about $153 billion, an increase of 84% since last year’s study.
Google’s value lost 2% over the last year, making the brand worth about $111 billion, $42 billion less than Apple. Microsoft sits at number five on the list, with an estimated value of $78 billion.
Global brands director of Millward Brown Peter Walshe says that it is Apple’s attention to detail as well as the company’s growing presence in corporate environments that allows it to behave differently in the cosumer-electronic market.
In the report, six of the top ten spots are technology and telecommunication companies.
- Apple
- IBM
