Apple Drops Prices On Retina MacBook Pro, 13-inch MacBook Air Models

Apple has just announced a pretty substantial price reduction for the Retina MacBook Pro and the 13-inch MacBook Air with 256GB SSD drives.

From the press release:

13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now starts at $1,499 for 128GB of flash, and $1,699 for a new 2.6 GHz processor and 256GB of flash. The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now features a faster 2.4 GHz quad-core processor, and the top-of-the-line 15-inch notebook comes with a new 2.7 GHz quad-core processor and 16GB of memory.

In addition to Apple’s high-end Retina MacBook Pro getting a nice little price cut, the company also slashed the price of the 13-in MacBook Air with 256 GB SSD to $1,399.00.The price changes are already applied to the devices online, and likely at your local Apple store.

It’s a nice little move from the company to help make the devices a little more affordable. Tim Cook, while speaking at the the Goldman Sachs conference yesterday, stated, “we are making moves — or have made moves to make things more affordable.” Obviously we have no idea exactly what he’s talking about specifically, or what products may be more pocket-friendly in the future, but if this is a sign of things to come, we’re all for it.

No one’s going to complain about things getting cheaper. Well, except maybe Wall St. and we all know just how reliable their  advice is these days…
