A lot of new products and software were introduced yesterday at the 2012 WWDC, including new MacBook Airs, MacBook Pros, the newest version of Mac OS X Mountain Lion, as well as some new features built into iOS6, among others. However, noticeably absent was any mention of new iMacs and Mac Pros. As a result, some have questioned the future existence of both of these computers. However, David Pogue from the New York Times reports that he was assured by an Apple executive that “new models and new designs are under way, probably for release in 2013.”
A Macrumors reader also reportedly shared an email received from Tim Cook concerning the absent Mac Pro updates, saying “Our pro customers are really important to us… don’t worry as we’re working on something really great for later next year.”
So for all of the iMac and Mac Pro fans out there, if these rumors pan out, you’ll just need to wait a little longer for new updates for these products.
