The much anticipated jOBS biopic, starring Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad, has been given an official release date. jOBS is set to hit theatres on April 19, which also happens to be around Apple’s 37th anniversary.
The film will first premiere at the Sundance Film Festival to a limited audience later this week and will portray the Apple co-founder’s life from 1971 through to the 2000s, looking at the founding of the company with Steve Wozniak, Jobs’ departure from the company, and his return to glory.
Ashton Kutcher apparently cancelled all of his other projects to film jOBS, which he believes is a role that “was meant for him.” He spent time meeting some of Jobs’ friends and colleagues to learn more about him and “get inside his voice.” He definitely has no trouble looking the part and it will be fun to see him in the role of Steve Jobs.
Kutcher and Gad are also expected to open Macworld | iWorld Expo on January 31st to talk about their experience portraying Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.
