Apple does more then desktop machines, and any loyal Mac fanboy has probably spent quite a bit of time trying to justify to themselves why they need an Xserve for the home network. I won’t tell you that you “don’t” need one, but I’m about to make things a little bit more difficult for you.
Apple updated there Xserve line today. The two baseline options are as follows:
Quad-Core
- One 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor
- 3GB memory
- 160GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA drive module
- Mac OS X Server v10.5 Unlimited-Client Edition
- $2999.00
8-Core
- Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processors
- 3GB memory
- 160GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA drive moduleMac OS X Server v10.5 Unlimited-Client Edition
- $3599.00
Just like the rest of the Apple line up these days, they’re playing up the “Green” label, and state that these have “More Power. Less Energy”
