As the event-filled week at WWDC wrapped up, Apple gave recognition to the 2010 Apple Design Award recipients.
This year was a bit different, from the category perspective, since there were both iPhone and iPad winners.
Per an online statement from Apple, the awards were given to applications that “…demonstrate technical excellence, innovation, superior technology adoption, high performance, and outstanding design.”
Some of the winning apps I’m familiar with (either by usage or prior app review), while with some I question the award criteria. That being said, I’ll leave my narrow opinions to myself and present you with the winners.
You can click on each app for a direct link to the Apple App Store.
iPhone Applications
- 20 Minute Meals
- Articles
- Brushes
- Doodle Jump
- Real Racing
iPad Applications
- Financial Times iPad Edition

The winners get the very prestigious looking silver Apple Design Award trophy, some new Apple hardware, and various other accolades.
So what do you think? Were the right apps chosen? What app do you think was left off of this best design winning list?
