While you were off stuffing your face with chocolate the last couple of days (don’t worry, I was too), Apple added another major film studio to their Apple TV iCloud offering. Films from Universal Studios are now available through iCloud, and customers are able to re-download previously purchased movies directly to iOS devices of their choice so long as the device is tied to the same Apple ID. At this point, the only studio left to get in on the iCloud goodness for its films is Fox.
What this means for consumers is that you’re now able to re-download any film you’ve purchased through iTunes on an iOS device of your choice, making it really easy to watch movies across your devices without having to repurchase films. Now, if only Apple would do the same with iTunes rentals, we’d be really laughing.
