The official Twitter for Mac app has just been updated to version 2.2.1 and includes support for Notification Center. Notification Center is now supported for incoming @replies and direct messages so you can more easily be informed on what your followers are tweeting you. The update also includes many fixes for Growl notifications and un-favoriting tweets, amongst other minor things.
This is the second time this year that we’ve seen the in-house Twitter app be updated for the Mac. Previously, Twitter for Mac was neglected of updates for months on end, leading many to believe that the app was heading to the graveyard. Last month’s update included Retina Display support, additional language support, and a few design tweaks. These updates show that the folks at Twitter still care enough about the Mac app to keep it up-to-date with the latest Apple technologies like the Retina Display and Notification Center.
