Ever wondered what the granddaddy of the modern iPhone looked like? Ever needed to catch a glimpse of the progenitor of the fruity-flavored megacorporation? While we don’t have images representing how they made that initial batch of motherboards, we do have these: pictures of the Apple 1 from 1976.

Yes, kids. There were computers back then. (And people too.)

As spotted by Gizmodo, these are photographs that were taken by Byte Shop’s owner Paul Terrel after he purchased 50 Apple 1s. Why did he take photos of these beauties? Pride, possibly. No one really knows. It’s still an intriguing look into the past of the company and at the computers that once retailed for $666.66. No, not joking there at all.

Now, here’s the real question: is this where we start taking obsessive photographs of the Raspberry Pi?
