Sushipedia: You don’t need to be a sushi newb

I’ll admit it, I’m a huge Sushi newb. I’ve only had Sushi twice in my entire life. Once was on a trip to Vancouver, and the second time was pretty sketchy so I’m pretty sure it doesn’t count. The hardest part for me is overcoming a psychological barrier. I have no idea what I’m eating, and my overly active imagination freaks me out every single time I take a bite. If I can figure out what I’m ordering, I can probably enjoy it a little bit more. Enter Sushipedia – an excellent resource for those who are just starting to get into eating sushi.

Want to find out what Akami actually might be? Or maybe you’re looking for something that’s not raw fish. Sushipedia helps you scan a list of popular sushi types and get in depth information on what you’ll be eating.

SushipediaThe application provides you with photos of the food so you’ll know what it looks like, as well as what times of year the meal will be in season. If there was ever an application that will help you not look like a newcomer to sushi, this would be it.

Sushipedia also gives you the ability to favourite certain things so that you can have a readily available list of things you like the most on hand, just in case you get stuck going out to sushi with your boss, but still have no idea what you should order.

The application is free at the iTunes store, so really there’s no excuse not to go and download this one.  You’ll be thankful you did because the next time friends recommend sushi, you won’t need to make excuses and try to convince them that burgers are the better option.
