Pixelmator? I barely know her!

I know this has been posted here before, but I really felt that it needed to be brought up again.

Now I am not a photo editing guru or any thing like that, but I do like to do some editing here and there. I think there are a lot of people like that too. When looking for software for photo editing, I didn’t want to go the Photoshop route. Why? Simple. I cannot justify spending that kind of money on a program that I am only going to use once in a while. Sure, I do some graphic design work on the side for some friends and companies. But that is still just something that comes up once in a while, and because I will do it for cheap. So when I heard about pixelmator on Macbreak weekly about a year ago, I could not wait to get my hands on it.
Pixelmator is one: a great price at $59 USD; and two: easy to use. Even better than that, you can try it before you buy it. Pixelmator allows you to do just about every thing you can in photoshop, although not all the tools are there. This is not for the Professional Photo editor/graphic designer by any means. But if you are just into casual design and editing, it is a great program. Another thing that I really like about it is the updates. Ok, so it gets annoying having to update once a month or so, but it makes me happy to use the program knowing that they are constantly improving it.

Do you already have photoshop files on your mac? No problem, Pixelmator can read those files, and keeps the layersseparatelike they were in the original file. Pixelmatorrecognizesseveral different file types and exports out just as many from the popular to the not so popular. This program has you covered.

So if you are looking for an affordable photo editor that is comparable to Photoshop then give Pixelmator a try. You can download it at http://www.pixelmator.com.
