If you own a Pebble, you probably know that downloading new apps isn’t the easiest thing in the world. After today, however, it should be way less of a pain.
Today marks the launch of the Pebble app store on iOS, which gives you access to over 1000 apps and watchfaces for your Pebble. (Or new Pebble Steel) The store will be accessible through the existing Pebble iOS app, which will be receiving a 2.0 update at some point during the day.
Users can easily search through categories of apps, which will be sorted by popularity just like the regular App Store. They can then download the apps directly through the Pebble iOS interface before easily moving them over to their fancy wrist computers.
The appstore features separate areas for apps and watchfaces, with six app categories: Daily, Tools & Utilities, Notifications, Remotes, Fitness, and Games. This makes it easier than ever to find your next favorite app — whether you’re tracking your workout, managing your music, or controlling your thermostat.
The app store will also be coming to Android devices “very, very soon”.
This is a huge update for Pebble owners, so be sure to update your iOS app as soon as you can.
