Parallels Desktop 8 Now Supports OS X Mavericks Developer Preview

The folks at Parallels have announced that Parallels Desktop 8 now supports OS X Mavericks. The engineering team has posted two guides to the Parallels website that shows Mavericks users how to install the operating system within a Parallels virtual environment as well as how to start Parallels Desktop on Macs running OS X Mavericks. These guides are available free of charge.

Installing the developer preview of OS X Mavericks within a virtual machine is much less riskier than doing an install over OS X Mountain Lion. This is due to the fact that Mavericks is still in beta, so there may be some data-threatning bugs within the operating system that could potentially corrupt your data.

Parallels Desktop 8 is an application that allows users to run virtual machines on their Macintosh. This means that a user can install and run multiple operating systems at the same time. This is helpful for software and web developers who need to test their applications on multiple operating systems at the same time. You can purchase a single-user license of Parallels Desktop 8 for $49.99 via Amazon.com. Parallels also has an iOS app that allows you to control your virtual machines for $4.99 in the App Store.
