Today, Google has released their first Nexus 7 commercial via YouTube. The commercial shows a father and son camping in their backyard with a Galaxy Nexus. You can see the pair using the tablet to watch movies, play games and they even use the tablet as a compass when hiking. This shows that Google is trying to market this tablet not only to individuals, but to families as well. And while I think that some families may very well adopt the Nexus 7, I think that most may sway towards the iPad as iOS devices tend to be more child friendly. Apple also offers a more family friendly app selection.
If you’re unaware, the Nexus 7 was released last month at Google I/O, Google’s yearly developer conference. Google hopes to sell a ton of these tablets as they feature the latest version of Android with optimal specs at a minimal price of only $200. The Nexus 7 features a 7-inch screen and a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU. The Nexus 7 began shipping to customers earlier this month.
As always, we’ve embedded the commercial above for your viewing pleasure. After you’ve given it a watch, let us know what you think in the comments.
