If you’re a fan of pick-up and play style games on your phone, a great new title has just hit the App Store.
“Threes!” is a simple number based puzzle game that runs universally on the iPhone and iPad. The gameplay in Threes! is simple, you see a bunch of tiles with multiples of 3 on them, and you have to drag matching ones into each other. Drag two 3s together and they’ll turn into a 6, meaning you’ll have to then create a matching 6 for you to drag into. There are also 1s and 2s on the board, which must be dragged into each other to create 3s.
It’s a whole lot simpler than it sounds, being somewhat reminiscent of Tetris or Bejeweled. Critics have been praising the game since its release, and it was also given an honorable mention for “Excellence in Design” from the 2014 Independant Games Festival. One of the game’s developers is also one of the folks that brought us Ridiculous Fishing, so it’s safe to say that it’s a well put together game.
In celebration of its launch, Threes! is currently on sale for just $1.99, for a savings of 33.3333333333%. If you want a fun yet challenging game that you can jump into at any time, you should definitely give it a look.
