Microsoft’s Kinect hacked to run on OS X

The Xbox Kinect, Microsoft’s answer to the Wii, has been hacked, and it’s now working within OS X. Sure, Apple could have gotten their hands on the technology before Microsoft, but it didn’t end up that way. Theo Watson has rectified the problem by hacking away at the device until he could get it to work in OS X.

It doesn’t end there though. Watson has also released the source code he’s working on to the public.

We’re not sure what’s going to spawn out of the project, but it would be pretty cool to see the Kinect integrated into some indie games.

Check out the video. It’s pretty snazzy.
