If for some reason you felt that your Mac could use a little more Microsoft in its life, then today’s your lucky day.
Microsoft has just released a Mac version of its popular note taking software OneNote. While OneNote has long been available on Windows and mobile devices, this is the first time it has ever received a proper Mac app.
The best part about the OneNote on the Mac is that it’s free, although for a “limited time” only. Taken from the app’s official description on the Mac App Store, here are some potential uses for the software:
- Capture rich notes for classwork, meetings, or research
- Keep track of your shopping list and mark items off wherever you are
- Create an itinerary and keep track of your travel plans for your next big vacation
- Take pictures of receipts and bills to remove some of the paper clutter
- Collaborate and share ideas with your team

- Keep and edit all of your notes – whether taken from OneNote on Mac, tablet, phone, or browser
