With just a few clicks, Lion’s new Recovery feature allows you to restore your Mac install without worrying about where you stashed that restore disc that came bundled with your Apple sticker.
Lion Recovery has been revealed, putting to rest some of the confusion of a distribution plan that didn’t involve physical media.
With a key-stroke combo at boot time, and a few clicks of your mouse, you can now do a fresh install of Lion should something go terribly wrong on your Mac.
But wait, there’s more!
Not only does Lion Recovery allow you to install a fresh copy of Lion, but you can also run Disk Utility to troubleshoot your hard drive, as well as restore your Mac from a Time Machine backup!
One of the coolest features, though, is Internet Recovery. This is a feature that will be included with every new Mac going forward and it takes over the recovery process if your hard drive fails.
Your computer will simply connect to Apple via the Internet and download Lion Recovery and all the necessary files required to do a fresh install of Lion. This process should be seamless and borderline transparent to users.
To enter Lion Recovery, simply hold down Command+R while starting up your Mac and it will takes care of the rest!
