At today’s Google I/O event, Google officially announced the long-awaited Nexus tablet. Google’s tablet will go under the name ‘Nexus 7’ and features a 7-inch screen (1280×800), Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a quad-core Tegra 3 processor. Google claims that the Nexus 7 will have an 8-hour battery life when used for normal tasks. This tablet manufactured by Asus but will be sold via Google Play.
Google also announced two accessories for the Nexus 7: the Nexus 7 Cover ($19.99) and an extra charging brick ($24.99).
The Nexus 7 will retail for $199 (8GB) and $249 (16GB) when purchased via Google Play. If you preorder the Nexus 7, Google will throw in some free content as well as $25 in Google Play credit, which can be used to buy apps, music and more. The Nexus 7 will ship in two to three weeks if ordered today.
