Back when Apple first showed off iOS 7, the company announced that several of its paid apps would become available for free to anyone that bought a new iPhone after September 1st. Initially, this list did not include GarageBand and featured only iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Now, however, it seems as though ALL iOS 7 users will in-fact end up getting GarageBand for free.
Apple recently updated its site’s “Built-in Apps” page to include this added description for GarageBand.
GarageBand is free on the App Store for all iOS 7 compatible devices; additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated on or after September 1, 2013.
Apple also updated the page to feature new iOS 7 icons for these apps, proving that new updates are on the way for all of them. Here is a side-by-side of the new iOS 7 icons versus the old icons.
Apple has since pulled all of these changes from its website.
There’s a good chance we’ll hear more about these updated apps at tomorrow’s big event.
