If you’re holding out for a sneak peek at Firefox OS’s Marketplace, and you’re not a developer with access to the betas, have no fear, your screenshots are here! A first look at Mozilla OS’s Marketplace application (above) reveals the direction Mozilla is headed with their first mobile operating system marketplace.
Engadget managed to get their hands on the screenshots, and have published the leaked images online for us all to peruse. I’d say that the OS seems to be going with a minimal design theme, but to be honest, it feels a little more like the operating system is going with a more Ubuntu design flavor. Honestly, I’m not really sure that it’s the right move.
Mozilla is hoping to create an operating system that has a very strong focus on web standard languages like HTML5, in an attempt to provide an ecosystem where open standards can really shine. The philosophy behind the Mozilla OS is that all user-accessible software will be written in HTML5, and that access to the device’s hardware will entirely be handled by JavaScript.
TechRadar has also put together a first look video of the Firefox Mobile OS. The video was published back in July, so if you’re into this kind of thing, you can watch the video below.
